This workshop gives a thorough overview of NVIVO. Techniques covered include: organizing your research materials, setting up case nodes for your units of analysis, using attributes for variables, developing your thematic framework, building models with the modeler, and using the Find and Query Tools. Tips are given on how to use NVIVO to its full potential according to the type of qualitative approach participants may wish to take. The workshop is hands-on. On the afternoon of the second day of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to set up their own projects in NVIVO.
An additional online course using multi-media (audios, videos, and graphics) with NVIVO 9 is also offered. The cost for the two days is $650 (academic/ public sector discount rate) or $750 (commercial rate) per person. This includes workshop materials, morning and afternoon tea/coffee refreshments but not accommodation. Each participant will receive a course pack, which includes a workshop handbook. The workshop will take place at the Metro Meeting Center, 101 Federal Street, Boston 02110 (near South Station). If you need accommodation, you will have to arrange that separately. [This workshop is a 'bring your own laptop' workshop. If you do not have a laptop, please indicate this on your application form. An additional charge will be made for the provision of a computer.] |
